Trick or Treat | It's Halloween In July

So maybe you aren't quite ready for Christmas, so what about Halloween? I'm all in when it comes to Halloween papercrafting and this week I'm getting a jumpstart on it with a couple of cards I created using some super adorable stamp sets from Scrapbook.com called Trick Or Treat Stamp Set and Spooky.  And just in time for Halloween in July you can now get coordinating dies for both of these stamp sets. Which makes everything even more spooktacular in my book! Keep an eye out for loads of adorable new Halloween themed products coming from Scrapbook.com too!

TRICK OR TREAT CARD

First up is this Trick Or Treat card created using both the Scrapbook.com Trick or Treat and Spooky stamp and die set. I began with a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock cut to 4 x 5 ¼ inches and stamped a custom background in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink using a variety of the images from both stamp sets.  I then ink smooshed the paper into Wilted Violet Distress Ink and dried it with my heat tool and repeated that until I was pleased with the way it looked. Next, I applied the Vintage Script Black Rub Ons over the entire piece of cardstock. The final step was to add some spatters using Distress Spritz in Wilted Violet, Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade. These are just perfect for adding a little shimmer and shine to your projects!

I added some machine stitching and then adhered the background to a piece of black cardstock. To embellish the card, I used the Tim Holtz Spider Web Die Set to cut a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock that I ink smooshed into Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. I then stamped the sentiment and bats with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink, poured black embossing powder over them, tapped off the excess and heat embossed them. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them and then adhered them to the card front using 1mm double sided foam adhesive for a little dimension.

HAPPY SPOOKY SEASON CARD

This second card features the Scrapbook.com Spooky stamp and die set. I stamped the image with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock and watercolored it using Distress Watercolor Pencils in Wilted Violet, Hickory Smoke, Fossilized Amber and Twisted Citron. I then stamped the sentiment with the same ink and die cut each image with the coordinating dies.

Happy Spooky Season Halloween Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Scrapbook.com Spooky Stamp Set, Spooky Die Set and Vintage Scripts Rub Ons

For the background I took a piece of the spider web patterned paper from the Scrapbook.com Spooky Paper Pad, cut it down to 4 x 5 ¼ inches and adhered the Vintage Scripts White Rub Ons. I then added some spatters using Distress Spritz in Wilted Violet, Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade for a touch of shimmer and shine. I used the backside of a craft knife to distress the edges of the paper and added some machine stitching around the edge. I then adhered it to a piece of orange paper from the Spooky Paper Pad. I then finished it off by adhering the stamped images using 1mm double sided foam adhesive for a little dimension.

Scrapbook.com Happy Holidays Mini Kit Bundle

Now I want to share a couple of cards I created using the Happy Holidays Mini Kit Bundle. I've also added in a few items from my stash just to show how you can always pull from your stash when crafting. While there is no video with these, I do share the details on how each card came together and all the supplies I used. So keep scrolling.

MERRY CHRISTMAS CARD

Along with the Holiday patterned paper and Happy Holidays die set that are included in the Happy Holidays Mini Kit, I used the Tim Holtz Vintage Sled Die Set. I cut it from various papers from the Holiday Paper Pad. I also cut the wood parts from kraft cardstock and the top bar from silver kraftstock.

The frame around the sled was cut using a postage die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. To make it longer, I placed the die on the paper and ran it partially through the die cutting machine. I then removed it, slid the die down, making sure to line it up with previously cut design. I then ran that section back through my die cutting machine to cut the other half and make the shape long enough to fit behind the sled. I then cut a piece of vellum to size and layered them all together.

For a touch of distress, I lightly sanded the edges of the patterned paper with a Ranger sanding disk, but you could use any fine grit sandpaper.

The finished card size is 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS CARD

For this card, I used more of the Holiday patterned paper and Happy Holidays die set that are included in the Happy Holidays Mini Kit. I also used some of the silver snowflake rub-ons from the Metallic Snowflake Rub-ons. I cut a piece of patterned paper to 4 x 5 ¼ inches and cut the rub-on sheet to the same size. I then lined them up and used the included popsicle stick to apply the rub-ons to the paper. I then added some machine stitching around the outer edge.

For a touch of distress, I carefully rubbed the back side of a craft knife along the edge of the paper to fray and distress the edges. I also used the same sanding technique as on the previous card.

The snowflakes are die cut from some of the green paper from the Holiday patterned paper pad and some silver kraftstock using the Scrapbook.com Snowflakes Die Set.

The finished card size is 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches.

Love You To The Beach and Back

I love the beach. My feet in the sand, the sun on my skin, the wind blowing through my hair, the waves crashing on the shore. All of my senses feel more alive when I'm at the beach. It always makes me feel less stressed and more relaxed. I recently returned from a beach vacation with my family and it was all of these things and more. A time to step away from everyday life and take a break from the constant input that surrounds us.

I definitely felt refreshed and inspired upon my return and couldn't wait to have a go at creating a beach themed card using a combination of products from Scrapbook.com and Sizzix.

LOVE YOU TO THE BEACH AND BACK CARD

The base of the card is a piece of patterned paper from the Scrapbook.com A2 Sunkissed Paper Pad and I inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink. Next, I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Under The Sea Embossing Folder, trimmed it to 2 x 5 ½ inches and inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Love You To The Beach and Back Card by Juliana Michaels featuring Scrapbook.com Sunkissed Paper Pad, Sizzix Ocean Medley Die Set, Ocean Critters Die Set, and Under The Sea Embossing Folder

Using papers from the Scrapbook.com Sunkissed Paper Pad, I die cut the adorable lobster, crab, and starfish using the Sizzix Ocean Medley and Ocean Critters Die Sets. I assembled the layers and inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I then die cut a bunch of the coral using the same paper and dies and arranged them on the background to create a wreath. I adhered the other die cuts 1mm double sided foam adhesive for a little dimension.

The final touch was the sentiment stamped in brown ink using the Scrapbook.com Hello Summer Stamp Set. I trimmed it down, inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink and adhered it with 1mm double sided foam adhesive.
