Hello there! Today I'm sharing about how to create pretty swatches, along with some other swatch options, AND a card, using the new Tim Holtz Distress Color…Scorched Timber! I'm also sharing some free swatch labels, so keep scrolling for all the details.
Scorched Timber is the brown we didn’t know we needed and I’m definitely in love with it! While I was making the pretty swatches, I was inspired to create a card. And since I have some birthdays to celebrate this month, I went with a birthday theme.
For more inspiration make sure to check out Tim's YouTube Live HERE.
SWATCHES | SCORCHED TIMBER DISTRESS INK
Below are some images of the swatches I've created using the new Scorched Timber Distress Ink and the rest of brown family in the Distress Color Palette so you can compare the colors with each other.
These are the pretty swatches I've been making and have shared during the past new color releases. On these swatches I used both Distress Ink and Distress Oxides Ink Pads. The Distress Ink is on the background of the tag and the Oxide is on the butterfly die cut. More details on how I made them can be found in my Swatches & A Card With The New Tim Holtz Distress Ink Color Scorched Timber Video HERE.

Hello there! On my YouTube Channel I’m kicking off my Love Is In the Air series. Over the next few weeks, look for a series of mixed media card videos with love as the theme. I’m not huge into celebrating Valentine’s day, but it’s a great reminder that we can let our loved ones know how much they mean to us ANY day of the year. The card I'm sharing today features some of the 2024 Sizzix Spring Collection and Tim Holtz Vault Collection.
You can either watch the video below or head over to my YouTube Channel HERE to check it out.

For those of you would like to look at the project in more detail, here are some additional photos for both the pillow box and the art journal. I didn't take photos of every page inside the journal, but I have shared the ones that contain both the stamping and die cuts.

Hello there and welcome! In this blog post I'm sharing the video for how I created the Pillow Box Art Journal I created for the Tim Holtz Sizzix 2024 Vault Collection YouTube Live. To create this set, I used the new Vault Pillow Box and Bags, Vault Funky Floral Wreath and Vault Scribbly Butterflies.
If you're interested in the supplies I used to create this Pillow Box Art Journal, you can find a complete supply list at the bottom of this post. When you shop through these links it supports me and I really appreciate that so very much!
You might have noticed that I've switched to only sharing the video links and my supply list here on my blog. If you're missing the written instructions and details and prefer them over a video, please let me know. It is a lot of work to do both the video and write out the instructions and since I don't seem to be getting very many visitors here any more, I thought I'd try this out to save myself a little time. If I find that there are enough of you who want the written instructions, then I may reconsider doing that again in the future. Until then, I hope you enjoy the time and effort I'm putting in to create the videos I'm sharing with you over on my YouTube channel.
For this project, I created two videos. As one video they would have been quite long, so I thought that by dividing them up it might make watching them a little easier and more enjoyable to follow along. I also decided to share both of them on the same day so you don't have to wait for the second one to be available. You can watch them in any order because Part 1 shares how to create the pillow box and Part 2 shares how to create the art journal that goes inside the pillow box.
You can either watch the video for Part 1 below or head over to my YouTube Channel HERE to check it out.
While you're there, make sure you hit that subscribe button, turn on notifications and give me a thumbs up! Your support of my channel and the projects I create and share with you means so much to me!
