Happy Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I'm proud to say I've played along with every Coffee Lover's Blog Hop since the beginning and every season I look forward to the next one. I can't wait to be inspired by all the fall themed coffee projects during this hop.
The card I've created today uses a stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs called Fall-ing For You. I stamped it with brown ink onto a white die cut tag and then inked the edges with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I then added a burlap ribbon bow.
The die cut leaves are cut from cardstock (Gina K Designs - Red Velvet, Sweet Mango, Wild Dandelion and Grass Green) using the Newton's Nook Designs Autumn Leaves Die Set. I inked them just slightly with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Now for how I created the foiled background. I used Therm O Web's Deco Foil Transfer Gel and Newton's Nook Designs Falling Leaves Stencil. Here is how you use this product:
Tape the stencil on top of a piece of cardstock to hold everything in place. Use a palette knife to lightly spread on a layer of the Transfer Gel. Once all of the stencil openings are covered with gel, carefully peel up the stencil and set the paper to the side to dry. Immediately wash the gel from the stencil using soap, water and a tooth brush. Allow the gel to dry until it turns clear. The drying time will be impacted by how thick you applied the gel.
Once the gel is dry, place a piece of Therm O Web Deco Foil on top of the stenciled piece and place this inside a piece of folded parchment paper. Then insert this piece into a preheated laminator. To avoid wrinkles and to get the best foil coverage, make sure to place the foil so that the grain on the back side of the foil is running horizontal with the opening of the laminator.
