Hello Card - Pressed Flowers 2 Stamp Set
The sunflower image in Pressed Flowers 2 set immediately caught my attention, so I chose to create a cluster of them as the focal point on my card. I stamped and die cut each layer and then used double sided foam adhesive to give added dimension to some of the layers. The entire piece was adhered to a die cut square I cut out using the Gina K Designs Double Stitched Square Die Set. The final touch was to adhered this layer onto a piece of embossed white cardstock which provides even more texture and interest to the design.
Wonderful Life Card - Framescapes Tropical Skies
Creating a Sunset Background with Distress Ink
To create the sunset background, I began with a piece of watercolor paper. I then cut and trimmed a circle to the size of the sun in the sunset image and used it as a mask on the watercolor paper. Next I took the following Distress Ink colors and blended them to create the sunset: Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves and Spun Sugar. As you can see, I applied more pink toward the area around the sun. Once I was pleased with the look, I removed the mask and blended some Squeezed Lemonade into the area of the sun. I then went over that lightly with a little more Spun Sugar. The final touch was to blend some Black Soot around the outside edge of the paper. After the background was complete, I used my MISTI to stamp the frame and other images. For the sun, I only applied ink to the reflection part of the stamp image.
