Hello friends and welcome! Today I'm sharing another scrapbook page that I created for the Paper Issues Online Crop from this past weekend. This layout was created for DeeDee's UmWow Studio Stencil Challenge.
Before I started playing with my stencil, I applied a coat of clear gesso to the front and back side of my background paper. The gesso helps minimize some of the warping that can occur when you start adding mixed media products to scrapbooking paper.
Once the background paper was dry, I placed the Jillibean Soup "Happy" Stencil on the paper and then used a palette knife to apply a layer of molding paste. I then gently lifted the stencil off the paper and repeated this process several more times. I then put the paper to the side to let the paste dry. Don't forget to wash your stencil as soon as you are finished working with the molding paste. It's much easier to remove when it's not dry!
After the molding paste was dry, I sprayed over the stenciled words with Heidi Swapp Colorshine Spray Ink. This added a large area of bold color and helped the stenciled words stand out more.

Here you can get a good look at the texture and interest the molding paste added to my layout. Other than the drying time, it was a super quick and easy technique.
To complete the background, I added some splatters of various other Heidi Swapp Colorshine Spray Ink colors, some stamping and a little bit of hand lettering. Can you read it?
