Yes, I usually post a little earlier in the day, but with Christmas coming in just 2 days, my schedule got a little off course! Last year was our first, and sadly last, Christmas with Milo the Golden Retriever that we rescued in October of 2013. As our first dog and indoor house pet, he definitely added a load of merry to our Christmas. I still struggle with missing him, but it was so helpful to relive those wonderful memories as I created these scrapbook pages.
We had taken Milo to the groomer a couple days before Christmas and he looked so handsome, with his little red scarf, as he posed in front of the Christmas tree! I realize I could have easily put both of these photos together onto one page, but the process of spending time to create a separate page for each of these photos really puts the focus on how much sweet Milo meant to me and Danny!
I used Elle's Studio Good Cheer collection to scrap these photos. This collection was by far one of my favorite Christmas collections this year. It has a nice mix of traditional and non-traditional colors which makes if fun and festive to create with. I was even inspired to create a sequin shaker pocket on this page using a transparency and some gold star sequins!
Merry Christmas and may your hearts be filled with love and joy this holiday season!!!
What beautiful pages - HUGS for your loss! It's soo hard to loose a pet. But hopefully you will tons of new memories to share with your beautiful new puppy! Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. We lost our beloved Smoke (aka Smoky kitty) on Jan 19th, the day between Wesley's and my birthdays. Just a few days before Christmas we found out she may night survive to celebrate another Christmas with us, but she held on so bravely. I'm glad these projects help us remember them sweetly, and helps heal a bit. Gentle puppy hugs to you and your family.
