Our moving day really can't come soon enough for me, but I am trying to stay patient. The old saying patience is a virtue is so very true!! The layout I have to share with you today is of our current home. I scrapped it a few months back...before all the moving plans had begun. I find it so interesting to look at this layout now. It means something so different to me now as compared to when I made it. Now, it really makes me think about how much I am going to miss this old house, this street, this town and our neighbors and friends.
The "Home Sweet Home" die cut image is from Birds Cards. When I saw it on her blog I knew it would be perfect for scrapping this photo. It said quite simply what this home means to me. I also used some Dusty Attic chipboard that a dear friend, Gabrielle Pollacco, shared with me. I will ashamedly admit that I have been hoarding it and using it sparingly. I didn't do much to it for this layout other than to ink the edges a bit with some Ranger Distress Ink. I choose to use the fleur-de-lis design because it matched the stained glass pattern that is in the transom over the front window.
Supplies:
Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink
Die Cut: Birds Cards
Chipboard: Dusty Attic
Have you ever scrapped a photo of your house? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

ReplyDeleteI have the photos to scrap some 'homes' we have lived in, but haven't got there as yet. It is sad when you move away from friends and neighbours, and you have so many wonderful memories in 'that' home ... but scrapping is a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteLove your layout....
Such a beautiful home Juliana!! I would definitely miss it too!! Love the way you used colors on your layout to match the colors from the house!! Hoping everything goes smoothly with the move!
ReplyDeleteI love this layout and the colors. It's funny because we just moved right after the 1st and it's been pretty yucky out so I haven't had a chance to get a pic of the outside of our house but I have taken several of the inside. We are planning on remodeling and are already starting to I love to take pics of the before, during and after stages. I have done this with my first house, then our camp and now will do it with our new house. It isn't the house that's so sentimental to me as the memories that you make there and many of the memories come from remodeling as well so I like to have that in my albums with lots of detailed journaling. Thanks so much for sharing :)
