Today I want to share a layout I made before Christmas using some of my favorite paper collection from My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing! I have loved every bit of this collection!!! Silly me thought there would be no way they could come up with another collection that I would love this much. However, I am pretty sure their new Collectable collection will do!!! I can't wait for it to be available in the stores!!!
For now, I will continue to play with this collection. I used the Bluebell line for this layout. Later this week I will share another layout with you using the Tangerine line.
I had fun playing with sewing, paper folding and trim. I even used a piece of vellum which you can't see real well in the photos. The cool zigzag/chevron piece was created following a paper folding tutorial by Julia Stainton which you can see HERE. It is really easy to do and I love how it adds a more dimensional piece to the layout as compared to just cutting the paper.
I also used some fun sequin trim and ribbon that I found recently at Hobby Lobby. To create the ribbon border I folded the ribbon at random intervals and then stitched across it with my sewing machine. I then used glue dots to adhere the buttons. However I am thinking that sewing them on would have been kind of cool too. I love this photo of Danny and I wanted to capture the peacefulness of the image and the moment as well as the love I have for him.
Fab LO...great paper!! Lee-Ann :)

ReplyDeleteSo many great details on this page, Juliana! I love the mix of the sequins with the chevron and the pleated trim with the buttons!! And I really like the soft effect, that the vellum creates over your patterned paper. And I agree, can't wait for the new MME to hit the stores!
