I have to admit that the final layout and what I envisioned before I started were not the same. But I think that is part of the creative process some times!
I used the Cocoa Daisy Aspen Grove Kit from October to create my layout. I loved that kit! The colors and patterns just made me happy and I also loved the alphas that came with it. I added some things from my stash as well. The stars template is from The Crafters Workshop and the wooden stars and camera are Studio Calico. I think I am addicted to those little bits right now!!!
I am particularly in LOVE with anything to do with stars too!
One thing I have definitely decided is that I want to do more stamping. I haven't had the urge to do this for quite some time. I think mostly I get discouraged because of the ink. I just can't seem to find a good quality ink that covers the stamps well. I am never sure if it is stamp or ink. If you have any thoughts on this topic I would LOVE to here them. Can you help a "want to stamp girl" out?!

ReplyDeleteLove your page Juliana and I loved using your sketch this week!! I love the faded stamped stars and the wood veneer stars mixed. I wish I could offer help on the stamping issue, but I have the same problem!! :) I can never get my stamping to look as good as the other images I see and I'm not sure either, if it's my ink or the stamps I'm using.

ReplyDeleteTo get a crisper image, I use an eraser on the stamp, then wipe it clean. Inkwise, I like Memento at the moment or versa magic.

ReplyDeleteI've recently started using Donna Salazar's Mix'd Media Inx and am have been happy with how they stamp. While I use my Distress Inks a lot, I don't use them much for stamping, and then only on rubber stamps unless I want a distressed look on my image. Donna's inks are nice and juicy and seem to cover the stamp well for a clear image. They are selling them at Michaels now. They are round and don't say Donna's name on them - Just Mixed Media Inx. If you only get one, her Jasmine is the best white I've found. (PS. the lids don't stay on very well, but I keep them in a box and it hasn't been an issue for me at this point. Natasha has a solution that she posted on her blog recently using binder clips to keep them closed and then she hangs them from a rack for storage.) ~ Blessings, Tracey

Hi Juliana, you really made it hard for me because I dont like chevrons AT ALL. But it took me out of my comfort zone, and that is really a good thing. So I am happy I did your sketch.Thank you! You made a super layout from your own sketch.
