I just recently purchased my first scrapbooking kit in years and it was from Cocoa Daisy. I must say I was very impressed with the contents! I liked that you can order just one month. I would love to have a monthly membership, however it's just not in the budget. So being able to order one here & there is nice. The trick to this though, is ordering it the day it goes on sale to the public because they tend to sell out very quickly. I was also lucky enough to be able to order one of the add ons...a set of stamps that I am loving. In fact, I had fun playing with both sets of stamps.
For this layout, I had fun stamping the tree images with clearing pigment ink, sprinkling it with clear embossing powder and then heat setting it. Do you notice anything about the large mat behind the photo? It is the bag that held some of the embellishments that came with the kit. I thought it was a perfect way to frame the photo. I was also inspired to create this layout using the Cocoa Daisy October layout sketch and the October layout challenge!
I used the same stamping technique on this layout, but you can't really see it too well on the photos. This layout feels a little plain and blah to me once I saw it posted here. I may go back and add something to it. Just not sure what that might be yet!!!
The circle border was actually leftovers from when I cut circle to use on another layout that I will be sharing soon. I also used them on the layout above and on the card below. I love to use of my scraps!!!
One thing that was in the kit that I loved were the letter stickers from American Crafts. (Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go Remarks Letter Stickers). They are transparent, so you can kind of see through them. I thought it was really cool.
And lastly I made a card. Again using my scraps!!! The background stamped image (using the washi tape stamps) was created when I was first playing with the stamps. I saved it and here it is!
So do you do kits? I am pretty sure I will be doing this again some time in the future! Thanks so much for stopping by!
HAPPY HUGS!

ReplyDeleteI had never really worked with kits before joining the DT at ScrapThat!! It is so much fun to open up a kit that's so suited for my style and oooh and aaaah over the contents before letting the ideas and plans roll through my mind before digging in. Looks like you did just that with this kit. Looks like this one was created just for you!! ~ Blessings, Tracey
