Life changes

OK? WOW! I just realized that it has been a few days since the last post here! I apologize for the lull, however life has been busy and I can explain why! My husband got a new job (YEAH!!!!) and we will be moving within the next couple months. So...needless to say life is a tad crazy right now as we try to get our home ready to put on the market and plan for the move. All of this moving business will probably limit my blog posting a bit as well as some of my other scrappy things, but I will do what I can when I can.

For today I want to share with you the LO I created for the Bo Bunny blog as we focused on Breast Cancer Awareness. We are posting projects over there all week long with this focus. This was a rather difficult project for me to initally start, but once the idea hit me the project flowed well. I was so caught up about the sadness involved on my part and not having any photos that I was dampering my own creativity. As soon as I let go of those self induced constraints the mojo began to flow. Words became the focus of my LO as you can see below.
It is a little difficult to read, but I layered the words mother, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend alternating the chipboard and acrylic alphas.

My journaling reads:
More than likely you too know some one effected by breast cancer
I have had more experience with the negative side of breast cancer
I watched one of my aunts, a friend and a coworker as they all struggled to fight this disease
Each one of them ultimately lost the battle
On the positive side there is so much more awareness about this disease
And the survival rates are improving
Hopefully some day soon no one will be able to say they know a woman who has lost the battle
We will only know survivors
For my flowers I used the new fabulous friend the Cricut Expression. I created them using the on the Cindy Loo Cartridge. They vary in size from 3 inches to 2 inches. After I cut them out I sprayed them with pink glimmer mist, scrunched them and then let them dry. Once dry, I applied pink ink to the edges, layered them and then added the brad to the center.
I embossed the Bo Bunny chipboard letters using my Cuttlebug and the Sentimentals Collection Cuttlebug Companion.
Another fun techinque I tried for the first time was adding alcohol inks to the acrylic letters. I love how the ink made the letters stand out a little more.
And lastly I used a paper piercing tool to create a fun textured border around the edge of the paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Hugs!
