Today I want to share some of my recent Jillibean Soup projects, mostly ones I created last month and that were posted on the blog!
First up a card...
I am loving (if you haven't noticed!!!) creating my own flowers! But, this isn't anything new. I have always enjoyed creating my own embellishments though. I think it partially comes from the fact that when I first started scrapbooking nearly 15 years ago, there wasn't a lot of premade anything other than stickers, die cuts, scissors and paper! I also think it stems from my creative side and my need to make things with my hands! Doing this just makes me happy and is such a creative outlet for me. I think that is also why I have been steering toward more of the altered art stuff as well. I just love to make things! I love color! and I love dimension!Helmar provided the Jillibean Soup DT with adhesives to use last month and I have really fallen in love with their ZapDots and 450 Glue! Thanks Helmar for letting us play with your products!!!
Next is LO about my youngest niece! Isn't she a doll?!
The close ups show some of the detail, but most of it (I think) gets lost in a photo! There is a ton of glitter glue on the butterflies...and on the corrugated alphas!
And some more Zap Dot magic with the butterflies...
Finally one of my favorite LO's...mostly because of the story behind it! This one is about making pickle relish with my Mom last year using fresh veggies from her garden and my Grandma's pickle relish recipe!
I just love hidden journaling and I knew when I created this LO I wanted to include the recipe we used some how on the layout. I did this, by taking a photo of the actual recipe card and then I matted it some paper, created a tab and slipped it behind the large photo! And if you happen to love sweet pickle relish, then you will LOVE this stuff! I really hope that Mom and I get to make some more this year!!!
So, I have a question of you all! How many of you have a garden? I grew up only eating vegetable from a garden and my Mom has always had one. It is my dream someday to have my own again. I had a small one in St. Louis, but we are still doing a lot of work around the outside of our current home and just haven't had the time and or money to get a garden or really any type of flower bed up and going yet. Maybe next year!Hope you all have a great day! Love your visits and comments!
Happy Hugs!

ReplyDeleteHave you tried scrap dots???? I am just itchy to get them and see how they work!
I love your pickle relish story too... I don't have a garden this year cause there was just no time. :(
Wonderful projects! I love them all. Just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYes, I grew up only eating "stuff" from our garden. Now I live downtown Vienna. Our balcony is 1,5 m2 (this is tiny) But we still grow some cherry tomatoes, herbs and some potatoes in a pot. LOL
