Ribbons and bows! Oh my!

On the Bo Bunny blog this week we have been sharing projects that incorporate ribbon. If you haven't stopped by to check it out, I highly recommend you do so! There have been tons of amazing ideas and I do believe they have a giveaway going on! (hint! hint!)

I created a set of hair bows for my nieces using some Bo Bunny ribbon, flowers and bling. I was able to get this photo of my youngest niece wearing one of them. Sometimes she doesn't hold still for very long! LOL!!!
Here is the set I created to match various outfits of my nieces. If you are interested in how to create some of these yourself, you will find a photo tutorial below.

Ribbon Hair Bow Tutorial
Supplies:
Ribbon (5/8 inch and 3/8 inch)
Flowers
Gems
Hot Glue Gun

Here are the supplies you will need.Start with the 2 largest flowers. Rotate them to offset the petals and hot glue them together
Hot glue the next size to the center of the largest two flowers.
Finish by hot gluing the smallest flower to the center.
Cut four of the 5/8 inch ribbon into 4.5 inch lengths.
Cut four of the 3/8 inch ribbon into 2.5 inch lengths.
Make a loop with the 5/8 inch ribbon and hot glue the ends together.
Repeat this will all four pieces of the 5/8 inch ribbon.
Hot glue these to the back of the flower.Fold the 3/8 inch ribbon in half and hot glue the ends together.
Repeat this will all four pieces of the 3/8 inch ribbon.
Fold back the flower petals where the large loops come together.
Hot glue the 3/8 inch pieces on top of these loops and underneath the flower petals.
Finish by hot gluing a gem to the center of the flower.
Attach your hair bow to a barrette or ponytail holder. I recommend sewing them on using fishing line. I found they stay on the barrette or ponytail holder better with this technique when little hands might be pulling on them!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Thanks for stopping by!

Jillibean yumminess!

First of...Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am part Irish, so I love to celebrate this day, but mostly with some sort of Irish food to eat! I love corned beef and cabbage!!!!

Now for the scrappy stuff...
Of course, I am sure many of you know Jillibean Soup had a DT call. So who submitted? I know I did! I have loved Jillibean Soup from the get go and I just couldn't resist giving it a try when I saw they were having a DT call! I was recently a guest on their blog and here are some of the projects I created. I really just love how all of their products coordinate so well together and they are so easy for me to work with!

Don't you just love these buttons?! Here they made perfect flowers!!!
Some details shots....here I wiped a little acrylic paint over the corrugated alphas. The report card pulls up and out for the journaling.
This next LO is of my niece riding with Grandpa on one of his horses. She nearly begs every time she is at G&G's to ride the horses!
I added paint and Stickles to these alphas!
And I had fun layering these flowers that I cut from the patterned paper!
I also did lots and lots of layering along the bottom with paper and ribbon!

I wish all who applied the best of luck! I am looking forward to see who they will add to their team and the inspiration they will share with all of us!

Themed papers in a new way!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and remembered to "spring forward" with your clocks! I always struggle with losing an hour, so I was quite happy about getting to take a nap yesterday afternoon.

Today, I want to share with you the layouts I created for my ACOT reveal. For my article, I focused on how you can use themed papers to create layouts that are a different theme. In this case, the line I used was "On the Boardwalk" by Graphic 45. It is very beach themed, but I certainly didn't use it that way at all. Stop by ACOT to check out my full reveal with more detail photos and my article with tips and how-to's for creating these layouts!

Thanks for stopping by today!

So excited!!!

I am sure some of you have already heard the news, but I am still so stinking excited about my most recent scrappy news! I made the GCD Studios design team!!! I will be primarily doing altered art for them and for those of you who know me, know that I LOVE me some altered art! I am still sitting on cloud 9 and feeling so very, very blessed! I have been scrapping for about 13 years and I have been in love with it since I created my first layout way back then. About 3 years ago I made some goals for myself to get more involved in this industry that I love so much. I truly feel that I have been very blessed to have had so many wonderful opportunities over these past 3 years. And I am super thrilled to have been asked to join GCD Studios design team! I hope you all will continue to be inspired and enjoy the projects I create for them this year! And if there are any types of altered items that you would love to see me create or any questions you have for me about anything, just ask!

I will be posting again later this week so I hope you stop by then too!!

Happy Hugs!
