Oh what a mess, but oh how fun!!!!

Just a little teaser of a project I created that will be posted on the Bo Bunny blog on Wednesday!

I also had fun this weekend playing with some of Pink Paislee's Amber Road collection. I got it last fall and I have not had time to play with it much until just now. The first LO I created is using the Pink Paislee sketch for their current contest ( all the details are HERE) .
This second one was just for fun! I was inspired by their new pleated ribbon in creating my pleated paper edging!

Top Ten & PJ's

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's weekend! I know we did! No big fancy gifts this year, but a lot of quality time together and it was really wonderful and relaxing.I had a great time creating all the gifts I gave Danny and he seemed to love them all!

Today on the Bo Bunny blog we are sharing projects created using something recycled or reused. For this project I created a mini album using the packaging from the Bo Bunny Double Dot ribbon. I covered each card with patterned paper. I added a strip of striped paper and a punched border to each page to give it some continuity. I then decorated it with rubon's and cut outs from the patterned paper. I went with a "Top Ten" theme and actually created this as a gift for Danny for Valentines day. Throughout the mini I shared ten things I love about him!

Here is a close up of the flower on the front cover. I created it using a scallop circle punch. I punched out 6 scallop circles, inked the edges and then accordion folded them. I adhered all of them on top of a punched out circle, hot glued a button in the center and then added the smaller flower and gem. It is rather bulky, but I love all the dimension!

The other gift I made Danny for Valentine's day was a pair of flannel PJ bottoms! This is my first real sewing project using my new sewing machine and I must say that I really enjoyed making them. He was so tickled when I told them that I made them and then he was even more excited when he realized that they were actually long enough for him! (He wears a size 36 inseam and I had to add about 5 inches to the pattern to make them long enough!)
Happy Monday to all of you and thanks for stopping by! On Tuesday I will have my February reveal up at ACOT. I hope you will stop by to check it out!

Angel how to...

Several people asked for instructions on how I created my flower pot angel.
Here is my supply list and instructions!
Supplies:
2 inch round wooden knob
2.5 inch diameter clay flower pot
patterned paper
cardstock
border punch
acrylic paint
paint brush
buttons
ribbon or twill
ink
hot glue gun
2 inch circle punch
decorative scissors
Wing die cuts (using a Silhouette, Cricut, etc)

If you would like to look at more images go to this POST.
Instructions:
Paint the wooden knob a flesh tone with acrylic paint. Once it is dry add the eyes, nose and mouth with a fine tip brush.
Cover the bottom edge of the outside of the flower pot with a strip of patterned paper. Start by adhereing it using the hot glue gun to the back side of the flower pot, leave a little extra along the bottom that you can curl under the bottom edge. Lightly mist the paper with water to make it more flexible. This will allow you to form it around the base as you glue it around the flower pot.
Next punch several strips from paper with a decorative border punch. Pleat fold these and attach them around the pot using the glue gun.
Attach a larger strip of paper (use decorative scissors along the bottom edge of this piece) starting at the top using the same method of gluing it in place and misting it lightly with water. The misting will cause the paper to wrinkle slightly as you attach it, but this will give it more of a cloth appearance.
Use the 2 inch circle punch to make the cone shaped arms.
Use cream colored buttons for hands.
Create the collar from ribbon/trim. Using a gathering type stitch. Hot glue this in place on the top (which is actually the base) of the flower pot.
Glue the doll head on top of this, in the center of the gathered ribbon/trim.
Create the curls from strips of curled paper. Use the paint brush handle to wrap the paper strips around to curl them. Hot glue them to her head.
Cut wings from paper and attach to back side of angel.
Finish by adding buttons, glitter or other embellishments to decorate her hair, dress and wings.
I hope this tutorial is helpful! If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

Here is a link to how Patti Milazzo created her angel. This is the one that inspired mine and I must again give her credit for my creation.

I am looking forward to seeing my sister and her family and celebrating my sister's birthday this weekend! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Well, it is no secret to anyone that really knows me, that I LOVE Jillibean Soup! I am so excited about all of their new releases and I can not wait to get my hands on them!!! Meanwhile, I have been playing with some of the papers from their last release and created this adorable little flower pot angel! I was completely inspired by one created by my friend and fellow Bo Bunny designer, Patti Milazzo. She created one and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make one! I made this one for my mom for her recent birthday and she totally loved it!
I am pumped about winning a free bottle of Shimmerz Vibez! It totally made me do that happy dance when Stacey told me I won a bottle! Thanks so much Stacey!!!!

I also have some other exciting news, but I have to wait a bit before I can share! Oh, such a tease! LOL!!!
